Women and Sisterhood February 29,2012

Hello Everyone!
I am glad to be back after overcoming  a few headaches with my blog and other problems due to my technologically-challenged abilities.

I just finished reading some very interesting iinformation about the mind-body connection - the relationship between stress and disease. The Head of psychiatry at a leading American university stated that one of the best things a man can do for his health is to be married to a woman, whereas for a woman, one of the best things she can do for her health is to nurture her relationship with her girlfriends.
The reality is that women connect with each other diffferently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. It seems as if quality "girlfriend time" helps us to create more serotonin- a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and create a feeling of well-being.
Women share feelings whereas men form relationships based on certain activites . They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they feel about cerrtain things or how their personal lives arre going. To quote, Jobs? Yes. Sports?Yes. Cars?Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf ? Yes. But their feelings? Rarely.
Women share from their souls is as enriching as jogging or working out at the gym.
The article concluded that failure to create and maintain quality personal relationships with other human beings is a detriment to good health.
What about planning a Girlfriend night this week-end? Great  idea as we approach International Women's Day on March 8,2012.
More about that in a few days
